When the online part is done, call or text (907) 738-9055. We don't book it for you. 45 minutes to an hour in Sitka, and each student does every skill on their own to pass. Then they get the same 2-year HSI card as the in-person class.
Add CPR & First Aid
CABS does not certify a sitter in CPR. HSI recommends adding it. Our Pediatric First Aid | CPR AED course covers adults, children and infants. Two courses, two separate HSI cards, both good for 2 years. We recommend both hybrid: the coursework fits around school, and our time together goes to hands-on practice.

After you buy the hybrid package, call or text (907) 738-9055 to book the skills session once both online courses are done. We don't book it for you. Packages with an in-person class are booked by class date below. A class needs at least 4 students to run.
In-Person Class Dates
$125 per person. One class of about 5 hours. A class needs at least 4 students to run. If one doesn't fill, we'll reschedule or refund you.

Common Questions
Who is babysitting safety training for?
HSI built Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) for sitters 11 and up: preteens and teens who babysit, or who watch younger brothers and sisters at home. No experience or prior certification is needed.
What is the difference between hybrid and in-person?
Both earn the same 2-year HSI certification. Hybrid is about 4 hours of online videos and coursework at their own pace, then a 45 to 60 minute hands-on skills check with us. In-person covers everything in one class of about 5 hours. Hybrid is $85 per person. In-person is $125 per person.
How long does babysitting safety certification last?
HSI Child and Babysitting Safety certification is valid for 2 years.
Does babysitting safety training include CPR?
No. CABS covers first aid for common injuries, but it does not certify a sitter in CPR. HSI recommends adding it. Our Pediatric First Aid | CPR AED course covers adults, children and infants, and the package pricing above saves up to $15 per person.
Can you teach a group at our school, church or youth group?
Yes. With 4 or more students we come to you, at $125 per person for in-person training. Groups taking both courses can use the package pricing above. Send a message below and we'll set a date.
